U.S.-based Exergy Group Opts for MWM as Engine Supplier
Mannheim, June 20, 2011
The North American subsidiary of the traditional company MWM from Mannheim, Germany, recently received an order for four engines for two biogas plants (“Double B” and “Swager Farms”) of the Exergy Group in Idaho. As announced by Exergy at the AgStar Conference in Boise, Idaho, in May, MWM was selected for the supply of the engines and for the maintenance of two biogas plants of Exergy New Energy, the biogas division of Exergy. Explaining the decision in favor of MWM engines, Leslie White, President of Exergy New Energy’s Biogas Division, says: “Our ability to successfully deliver energy technology solutions to meet the demands of the renewable energy market is dependent on the efficiency and reliability of our partners. MWM offers the highest efficiency and reliability in the biogas segment. MWM’s ability to provide environmentally compliant solutions will continue to be a key component in our strategy for overcoming the barriers in the renewable energy market.”
In the future, two sets of two 800 kW gensets of the TCG2016C V16 engine series will generate energy in two biogas plants in Idaho. Exergy New Energy employs advanced bioenergy technology to convert organic waste into electricity, heat, and fuel. Moreover, the bioenergy technology is used to resolve waste management issues in the fields of animal husbandry, agriculture, and municipal and industrial waste utilization.
The Exergy Group endeavors to increase the efficiency in the renewable energy segment by means of environmental management, production of “green” energy, and the associated economic benefits.
Gerhard Klammer, VP Sales of MWM of Ameria, says: “We are very pleased to have been selected as the engine provider, and to be working with Exergy on these two Biogas plants. With our extensive experience in Biogas, we are keen making these projects another success for MWM.
MWM is the world’s oldest manufacturer of gas-powered generators whose innovative gas engines are noted for their high efficiency and maintenance friendliness – two features that make them a highly eco-friendly and profitable solution for use in the renewable energy segment.
