Six MWM Gas Engines Installed in Russian Cement Plant
Mannheim, April 26, 2016
In December 2015, an MWM CHP plant went live in the Russian cement plant OOO Atakaycement in Novorossiysk. The combined heat and power (CHP) plant comprises six MWM TCG 2020 V16 gas engines with a total capacity of 9 MW.
High Efficiency under High and Low Load
Apart from the cogeneration plant of the CHP plant, the Russian MWM partner New Technology has also installed a custom-developed system for optimized load sharing management and gas engine synchronization. The MWM gas engines are especially designed for reaching efficiency levels of 90 to 95 percent and reliably generating power and heat energy even under suddenly changing load conditions.
In Novorossiysk, six MWM TCG 2020 V16 gas engines inexpensively and efficiently generate power and heat energy.
MWM CHP Plant Reduces Cement Production Costs
Another special feature of the CHP plant is that the exhaust fumes of the gas engines are used for the dehydration of raw material in the cement production. In this way, the OOO Atakaycement cement plant benefits from eco-friendly power and heat energy and reduces cement production costs.
