NEW at MWM Service: SCR Catalyst Retrofit Kit for Gas Engines for Reliable Compliance with All Requirements of the 44th BImSchV

The 44^th Federal Immission Control Ordinance (44^th BImSchV) introduces new and stricter emission limits, shorter measurement intervals, a registration, and new obligations to furnish evidence for medium-sized plants with firing systems, gas turbines, and combustion engines. The ordinance has been in force since June 20, 2019 and applies to existing and new plants in Germany that are commissioned after December 21, 2018 with a rated thermal input of 1 to 50 MW. To comply with the requirements, MWM offers plant operators a retrofit kit in the form of a compact turn-key solution with SCR catalysts. SCR (selective catalytic reduction) technology enables the reliable reduction of NO_x emissions in a sustainable and long-term manner.

Fast and Reliable Retrofitting of Existing Plants with SCR Catalysts by the MWM Service Team

The ordinance applies, among other things, to newly installed and existing combined heat and power (CHP) plants and cogeneration plants that are driven by gas engines. For the retrofitting of existing plants, MWM offers a compact turn-key solution with SCR catalyst, optionally also with urea tank and supply of urea solution. As the retrofitting of existing plants takes very little time, the downtime is very short. Moreover, MWM Service evaluates all steps that need to be taken in advance in order to ensure a smooth and speedy transition. After the existing peripherals have been disconnected, the new SCR catalyst can be mounted. Additionally, the urea tank is set up, the control system is installed, and the SCR system is linked to and integrated in the existing engine control. Optional remote system access ensures quick support and high system availability.

MWM’s plant-specific modular complete solution with SCR technology ensures full and reliable compliance with the statutory requirements of the 44^th Federal Immission Control Ordinance (44^th BImSchV). Full scope retrofitting with urea tank and supply with MWM Premium U 32.5 urea solution is also possible. The plant servicing and maintenance is handled by qualified MWM service personnel.
