Ongoing optimization of MWM gas engines yields new features
Engines enhanced with fast ramp-up option
The output of the MWM TCG 2032 B V16 gas engine was further improved by optimizing the piston, the ignition components, and the gas mixer. In this way, the TCG 2032 B V16 engine output was increased to 4,500 kWel at 50 Hz and 4,050 kWel at 60 Hz (natural gas operation). Moreover, the new fast ramp-up option enables the TCG 2032 B V16 engine to start up even faster. Thus, the start-up takes less than five minutes from the ramp-up request to 100 percent network load. The fast ramp-up was made possible by means of a special software option for switching between normal and fast generator set ramp-up, depending on the needs. The output of 2,300 kWel of the newly introduced MWM TCG 3020 V20 gas engines represented a performance increase of 15 percent over the predecessor model.
