50 years of engine construction in Mannheim
In 1972, MWM proudly celebrated the 50th anniversary of engine building in Mannheim. Since the finalization of the spin-off agreement and the associated transition of the Stationary Engine Building department to the independent company Motoren-Werke Mannheim A.-G. in 1922, the company had continued to make progress. Thanks to ongoing modernization measures, the production facilities in 1972 reflected the state of the art. The diesel engines offered at the time covered an output range from 6 to 3000 hp and a wide variety of application areas.
Back in 1972, the MWM service network was already very extensive, with sales and customer service points in more than 90 countries. Another corporate highlight: In 1972, MWM delivered numerous emergency power supplies for the Olympics in Munich.
