MWM Gensets produce Electricity in South Korea’s largest bio gas power plant

MWM GmbH is one of the world’s leading suppliers of highly efficient and eco-friendly systems for decentralized electric power. In 2012, through its fully-owned subsidiary MWM Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd, MWM supplied the cogen power plant for Korea District Heating Corporation with two gas-powered gensets of the model TCG 2020 V16, as part of a turn-key contract through the Korean distributor, Coastal Power, Inc. These units feature superior electrical and thermal efficiency in their power class and can be used for almost all types of gas. Each TCG 2020 V16 unit produces an electrical energy output of 1530 kW .

The Korea District Heating Corporation (KDHC), established in November 1985, mainly operates in the areas of district cooling and heating, communal energy systems, power generation, as well as in a segment of new and renewable energies. It has always been KDHC’s aim to operate the district heating business effectively, to utilize energy efficiently and to improve environmental conditions. At the same time, the main focus is on providing the public with the advantages and value of decentralized electric power. Over the years, KDHC has managed to develop into one of the world’s largest district heating providers.
On March 25, 2013, an official opening ceremony took place, marking the commissioning of the plant. This is the largest size biogas power plant in all of South Korea that generates power and heat from renewable energies.
