Caterpillar Energy Solutions Shortlisted for DPOK with Campaign “100 Years MWM Brand”

In 2022/2023, Caterpillar Energy Solutions celebrated the 100th anniversary of its MWM brand. Over the years, the MWM brand has continued to grow. The development started with the acquisition of the Stationary Engine Building department of Benz & Cie. in 1922 and continued with the foundation of Motoren-Werke Mannheim A.-G. and the registration of the MWM trademark in 1923. Today, the brand is a leading provider in the field of distributed energy generation.
Eventful history offers great potential for corporate communications
The eventful history and development of the MWM brand was showcased on a landing page custom-designed for the anniversary, using a digital timeline featuring key milestones. Employees, distributors, and customers also had the opportunity to submit their personal “MWM moments”, which were shown on the timeline. In addition to interviews with brand experts and a virtual archive of the historical employee magazine, the website featured a monthly quiz about the MWM brand.
Caterpillar Energy Solutions impressed the jury of the German Online Communication Award (DPOK) with its anniversary campaign “100 years MWM brand”, reaching the top 5 in the “Industry & Engineering” category. This year’s shortlisting from more than 500 submissions comes after the nomination for the campaign “150th Anniversary—150 Years of Continuous Innovation” in 2023. The winners are determined by the DPOK jury by way of an anonymous online voting process, which makes the award especially meaningful.
“For us, the 100th anniversary of the MWM brand was a very special event, which we celebrated together with an MWM online campaign”, says Frank Fuhrmann, Manager Communications at Caterpillar Energy Solutions. “We are of course very pleased with the positive response that the campaign got from our customers, distributors, partners, employees, and the DPOK jury.”
The DPOK award show takes place in the Quadriga Forum in Berlin, Germany. There, Caterpillar Energy Solutions and other top companies are presenting their projects for external and internal brand communication, and the winners of DPOK Award 2024 are also be announced. Caterpillar Energy Solutions is proud to have reached this milestone and would like to express its gratitude to all employees, customers, and distributors who have contributed to the success of the campaign “100 years MWM brand”.

The renowned German Online Communication Award (Deutscher Preis für Onlinekommunikation – DPOK) honors the outstanding performance of organizations in the field of digital and online communication. The award is presented in various categories, including corporate communication, campaigns, social media, influencer marketing, etc. The award, which is organized by “KOM” magazine and Quadriga, is given once a year. From the submitted projects, the winners are determined by an independent jury. The award increases the public perception of the nominees and winners. Furthermore, it offers all participants an excellent network forum.
