New Plant with 7,056 Additional Spindles: Spinning Company in Bangladesh Uses Seven MWM Gas Engines for Energy Supply of Cotton Yarn Production
Mannheim, January 25, 2022
The Saiham Group in Bangladesh is a yarn manufacturer that operates two spinning factories including Saiham Cotton Mills Ltd., one of Bangladesh’s largest industrial cotton mills. For more than 10 years, the plant that supplies energy to the cotton yarn production was equipped with nine engines with a total output of 9 MW. In 2017, the Saiham Group decided to replace the previous engines with one MWM TCG 2020 V16K and six MWM TCG 2020 V20 gas engines.
Same Gas Consumption, 4.5 MW Additional Energy
Saiham Cotton Mills Ltd. manufactures auto-coned, electronically-cleared, carded, and combed cotton yarn. The production capacity amounts to 15,480,000 kg of yarn/year from 82,080 spindles. The new MWM gas engines were installed by MWM distributor Kaltimex Energy Bangladesh (Pvt.) Ltd and deliver 13.5 MW, i.e. 4.5 MW more energy, from the same amount of gas.
The MWM engines now supply a new system with 7,056 additional spindles with energy. The Saiham Group’s decision to modernize the factory’s power supply with MWM gas engines was based on one and a half years of intensive research, which had revealed these engines’ high performance and good service offering. The 13.5-MW power plant with MWM gas engines also assists the Saiham Group in covering the global demand of textile manufacturers.
MWM TCG 2020: Best Thermal and Electrical Efficiency
The MWM TCG 2020 gas engines are custom-tailored to the challenges of a dynamic market setting. The MWM gas engines in the output range from 1,000 to 2,000 kWel fulfill the elevated requirements of a broad application spectrum and ensure efficiency, reliability, flexibility, environmental compatibility, low TCO, and high profitability. The high efficiency levels of the MWM TCG 2020 series make the plant highly profitable.
