BUND Hessen Launches CHP Information Campaign that Brings Together CHP Plant Manufacturers and Prospects

BUND Landesverband Hessen e.V. launched its cogeneration information campaign “CHP: Dual Energy Utilization” with a kick-off event on October 24, 2016. The objective of the project is to increase awareness of cogeneration, its advantages, and its fields of application and to boost the deployment of CHP plants in Hessen. For this purpose, the environmental association collaborates intensively with energy agencies, building owners, tradesmen, and CHP plant manufacturers.

At the event, which was held on the premises of Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD), Tarek Al-Wazir (Hessen’s Minister of the Economy), Horst Schneider (Lord Mayor of the City of Offenbach), Mirjam Schwan (Director of the Offenbach Chamber of Industry and Commerce), and BUND urged to make the future heat and power supply more efficient by means of increased use of cogeneration, thereby promoting climate protection.

With its slogan “CHP: Dual Energy Utilization”, BUND Hessen draws attention to one of the key benefits of cogeneration over the separate generation of power and heat: The dual and thus much better utilization of primary energy. For example, this can be achieved by installing an MWM CHP plant.

MWM CHP plants for distributed energy generation stand for efficiency and eco-friendliness. The power plants are characterized by a high degree of customizability and efficiency. Other benefits of cogeneration include a higher security of supply and energy thanks to distributed energy generation and compensation of fluctuating wind and solar power supply levels.
More Security for Future CHP Plant Operators
Hessen is interested in significantly boosting the use of CHP plants. By 2050, the federal state wants to migrate its entire energy supply to renewable energies. Thus, BUND has launched its cogeneration information campaign with the financial assistance of Hessen’s Ministry of Economics, Energy, Transport and Regional Development.
In collaboration with energy agencies, building owners, tradesmen, and plant manufacturers, the BUND wants to be the link between the desire to install a CHP plant and the implementation. Systematic information work on the subject of financing and subsidization of CHP is to provide plant owners with more security.
