MWM gas genset deployed in Portugal
Mannheim, July 30, 2015
In the CHP plant at the Acabamentos Têxteis de Barcelos textile dyeing facility, a natural gas fueled MWM TCG 2020 V12 gas engine was delivered in March. The cogeneration power plant (CHP) will be supporting the production processes with electrical output of 1,194 kWel. The water treatment company FDuarte has been operating the plant for the textile operations in the Portuguese city of Barcelos.

Improvement of Efficiency and Environmental Protection
Acabamentos Têxteis de Barcelos was established in 1985, offering services in the field of textile dyeing and finishing of knitted fabrics. The heat and exhaust gas generated during the production processes are utilized by the cogeneration plant for the recovery of warm water and steam (combined heat and power, CHP). These newly-recovered resources can then be applied in the dyeing and finishing processes. In this way, the highly-efficient MWM gas engine, including the modern control systems, make a significant improvement in efficiency and environmental production in the Acabamentos Têxteis de Barcelos textile dyeing operations.
