MWM Service Tutorial Video Series “Do It the Smart Way”: Episode 8 Shows How to Measure the Pollutant Emissions in the Exhaust Gas

The MWM service tutorial video series “Do it the smart way” demonstrates various maintenance tasks on MWM gas engines. The eighth episode of the series is presented by Kevin Kolbe, Technical Trainer at the Learning Center Service in Mannheim, Germany. Kolbe takes over from Alexander Klotz, who presented the previous episodes of the service tutorial. In his first video, Kolbe explains how to measure and test the pollutant emissions in the exhaust gas of the engines.

Using the Measuring Lance

It is important to measure the pollutant emissions in order to comply with legal requirements and ensure safe operation of the generator set. In the tutorial, Kolbe explains how to apply the measuring lance on the engine and which devices are needed for the measurement. If the measured value deviates from the standard value, the combustion chamber temperature needs to be adjusted accordingly. This can be done via the parameters of the TPEM (Total Plant & Energy Management) panel.
